On Saturday the 15th of December, the 2s ventured out to St Francis on a wet and windy day. Depite all the other NEWCC grades being washed out the 2s played. They won the toss and elected to bat.
Crack and Dagga's got the team off to a wonderful start, with Crack making a wonderful 78 and Dagga's making a solid 41.
Jesse Smith went cheaply for 5 which then saw Moth and skipper Rhys Lambert at the crease. These two batted beautifully together putting on a near 100 run partnership. Rhys fell for a very well made 36 and Moth shortly after for a run-a-ball 51.
Rigga was next out and made a quickfire 23, but things were just getting started. Enter Dylan Forster and Matt Butcher. These two put on plenty off runs for the 7th wicket partnership. Butch fell for an entertaining 59 off 29 balls, and young Dylan Forster batted brilliantly for his 91 coming off just 73 deliveries.
Things were not over yet. This bought Jack Reid and Daniel Robinson to the crease who made a brilliant 60 run unbeaten 9th wicket partnership. Jack ended 38* and Hawka 26*.
This left the 2s with a mammoth total and club record of 8-475! Unfortunetly this will not stand and they will have to do it all over again next week in a one-dayer. But the question is should it stand in the club records?
